Always thought about teaching a college class but not sure where to start - or want to know more about the commitments first?
What would you do with an extra 10k next year? If you’re a mental health professional who has always thought about teaching a college course part time but have no idea where to start, this online workshop is for you.
Join me, Dr. Victoria Rodriguez, as we break down myths about being an adjunct instructor ( such as “you can’t make money teaching part-time” or “you need a PhD to teach at a university”) and review the tools you’ll need to thrive teaching part time.
In this workshop, I’ll guide you step-by-step to help you:
Understand the time commitments and expectations of an adjunct instructor
Apply for and land your first adjunct position
Design your course to keep students engaged (whether in person or online)
Set up systems that make grading assignments easy for you and effective for students
As universities finalize their courses for next semester, NOW is the perfect time to apply for an adjunct instructor position aka teaching 1-2 college courses on the side. In this workshop, you’ll learn how you can apply your skills and supplement your income as a mental health professional from the clinic to the classroom.

While I do go over how to apply for and teach an in-person course in this workshop, I have taught primarily online courses while working from home. You can either teach synchronously online (meaning you are meeting regularly over video) or asynchronously (meaning you are creating and guiding students through a self-paced course - no regular meetings required).
