Meet Your Professor

  • Hi, I'm Dr. Victoria Rodriguez!

Just like you, I always imagined what it would be like on the other side of the podium in the classroom (or in my case, the zoom screen because I love working from home!).

While finishing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of New Orleans, I started teaching 1-2 college courses each semester so I could get my feet wet and see if I liked teaching at the college level - but also because I loved sharing all the tips and tricks that had been passed onto me from my professors and mentors.

I’ve been teaching over 5 years now at the same time as building a thriving virtual private practice from my home office. Now, I’m so excited to share with you how you can take all the clinical knowledge you’ve gained over your career and share it with the next generation of counselors and social workers!

Adjuncting 101: Your Guide to $10k as an Adjunct Professor for Social Workers and Counselors
$57.00

In this 2 hour workshop, you’ll learn how you can apply your skills and supplement your income as a mental health professional from the clinic to the classroom. We’ll cover exactly what you need to know when applying for an adjunct position, how to design your course, and how to create systems that work for you and your students so that you can be well on your way to earning your first $10,000.

Your Questions Answered:

  • Your purchase includes access to a 2 hour online workshop WITH recording available. In this workshop, you’ll learn what it is involved with teaching a college course, how to write a resume or curriculum vitae that reflects the needs of the program for which you are applying, how to design your course to keep students engaged (whether online or in person), and how to balance multiple jobs as a clinician and instructor.

  • While I do go over how to apply for and teach an in-person course in this workshop, I have taught primarily online courses while working from home. You can either teach synchronously online (meaning you are meeting regularly over video) or asynchronously (meaning you are creating and guiding students through a self-paced course - no regular meetings required).

  • It depends on the university and program - some require a PhD, but so many DO NOT. You can even teach undergraduate courses without a full license. Some community colleges/tech schools only require you to have an undergraduate degree.

  • Mental health professionals already have experience leading groups, giving presentations, providing feedback, etc. This workshop reviews how you can showcase your clinical skills in the classroom.
