For years, I burned myself out in agency work with the long hours on the road, the never-ending to-do list, the overstimulating client homes and offices. I get it; After years in the field, I was so tired. Add in multiple chronic illnesses and executive functioning issues, and you had a recipe for burnout.

I knew I was a good therapist. But I also knew I could not BE that good therapist without the environment to support me. An environment where I got to control all the sensory input, where I could see the number of clients that worked best for me. I had always dreamed of working from the comfort of my own home surrounded by my familiar things - my favorite overstuffed chair, my cats, my coffee mugs. Now, I knew I had to make that dream a reality.

Here's how I made the WFH dream a reality

To take my health and wellbeing into my own hands, I added 2 major income streams that would allow me to leave my agency job for the comfort of home for full-time work:

  • I started my online private practice seeing 1-2 clients in the evenings after work (and now teach you how to do the same in The 5 Client Practice)

  • I taught online classes for 2 local universities and still do to this day (and love enocugraing other clinicians to share their knowledge in the classroom in Adjuncting 101)
